Perhaps the best rants are the ones never shown.
Today, I was dissuaded from releasing a few scathing remarks on a matter that I generally find pretty disappointing. I’m still coming down from a point of ‘nerd rage’ that had me pretty upset and headstrong in hoping that a well formulated blog post might be the common man’s response to certain elevated (read: high as a kite) thoughts and, in turn, correct the intended...

What is spam?
With the amount of awesomeness that I end up finding on the Internet every single day, I believe that I’m going to have to share more of it on Tumblr here rather than spamming Twitter with a lot of links. I posted more than 20 links yesterday. Granted I’m not spamming mentions of other users in many of those links, I still feel like that I’m borderline spammy.
Perhaps I should...

IRC: the lost Internet pastime
Originally, I was going to write this huge article in support of IRC, as I’ve rediscovered its many uses lately—mainly through accident—but instead just want to post a funny conversation that I had with a friend of mine that I pretty much met via IRC. Minecraft with bcarr - Part One: The Surrounds
Yes, I’ve done it now. I’ve begun contributing screencasts of gameplay footage on YouTube. But all for good reason. As I understand it, some people that follow me on Twitter or others that I’ve talked to about video games and the like aren’t sure what to think of a pretty popular indie game that blossomed this summer called Minecraft. Minecraft is a sandbox survival game...

A conversation regarding an obsidian-colored...
Being able to give advice and conversations about dating and so on isn’t really something that I can really… do. But I feel like the following dialog I had with my friend Rochelle completely bucks the trend.
We had been talking about movies and moviegoing as apparently, CineBistro is a pretty different experience. Next came Bowtie, which isn’t the same, but sells itself as if it was....

StarCraft 2 will save esports as we know it.
If there’s a game that is on fire beyond belief right now, the first games that come to mind might be titles that are part of a long series of successful franchises. World of Warcraft and Call of Duty are probably the most recognizable names that have caught on into the mainstream. The MMO might have a bit of a nerdy connotation when brought up in conversation and the FPS perhaps commands...

Elsewhere: A foundation is laid for "Selective...
I wrote a pretty cool essay that recently went up on the company blog that outlined my thoughts on the rise of close-circle networks and a certain effect we labeled “Selective Connection.” Here’s an taste of the full article: I recently reviewed a social network called Path that bills itself as an “anti-social network” of sorts wherein it limits a user to 50 friends. I like...
